Bill Hentosh
FLORAL HIGH-KEY PHOTOS
Bill Hentosh has been a member of the Garrett County Arts Council (GCAC) since 2017, and he served on the GCAC Board from June 2018 to June 2024. Hentosh has been involved with landscape and nature photography for over 45 years, and has recently focused his interest on high-key transparency flower photography. He displays his work at the Garrett Arts Council Gallery and local art events. Hentosh's nature work has been published in Birds & Blooms magazine. He has also instructed a digital photography course at Garrett Community College in 2018. His photography work can also be viewed on etsy.com, where he maintains his shop, hentoshphotography.
Technique
These high-key floral images are created in a process called Transparency flower photography. For this flower photography, a light box is used to illuminate the flowers from the back, enhancing the color detail of the petals and leaves. A series of photos is taken at different exposures, then the images are stacked through an editing process that helps capture the translucency of the flowers.
